Inviting all clinicians and representatives of professional associations working in the healthcare industry. In addition, we are encouraging at least one board member from each association to attend.

Key Message:

Find out how your organization can participate in Missouri Million Hearts to improve health outcomes. Heart Disease is the leading cause of death and Stroke is the number five cause of death in Missouri based on Vital Statistics 2012.

Key Objectives:

Demonstrate an understanding of the Million Hearts® initiative.

Learn how your organization’s current activities and the state’s activities can align to support the goals of the Missouri Million Hearts Partnership.

Demonstrate an understanding of the role of team-based care: a health systems-level, organizational intervention that incorporates a multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of the ABCs in primary care settings. Regarding the ABCs, emphasis will be placed on blood pressure and cholesterol control and smokefree living.

2014 Center for Patient Safety EMS PSO Conference

The 2014 EMS Patient Safety Conference is expected to be bigger and better than previous years, bringing national EMS experts together to share strategies to improve patient safety, highlight successful practices and provide broad networking opportunities to share successes and challenges.

Museum after Hours: Steamboats and the Missouri River

This program showcases steamboats and the Missouri River. Held in the Lohman Building, one of the earliest riverboat landings still standing in Missouri, this program will highlight the building, the importance of steamboats, and the "Big Muddy."  This program continues the programming series, "Museum after Hours," which occurs on the first Wednesday of each month. "Learning@11" is a series of interactive programs exploring various aspects of Missouri's cultural and natural history specifically focused on age groups 4 to 7 years using more activity-based programming. For similar-themed programming for older children, please see the regular "Tuesday@2" programming for age groups 8 to 12.
