"Learning@11" is a series of interactive programs exploring various aspects of Missouri's cultural and natural history specifically focused on age groups 4 to 7 years using more activity-based programming. For similar-themed programming for older children, please see the regular "Tuesday@2" programming for age groups 8 to 12.

Rotaract's Kicks in the Sticks Trail Run

What:  Kicks in the Sticks is a fundraiser and trail race. You can choose to run, walk, or just come along for the festivities. The general idea is a run through the woods just before dark surrounded by a jamboree / festival / party atmosphere. Three distances available of approximately 1.2, 3.5, and 7.5 miles through the woods followed by live music, food & beer. Unique awards are made by kids from The HALO Foundation! Must be at least 10 years of age to participate. 
When:  August 9th will be the 3rd annual Rotaract Kicks in the Sticks. **See approximate time line below.
Where: Binder Park, Jefferson City.  Mass start near the old bait shop (near Henwick Lane).
Why:  To raise funds for Rotaracts service partners, The HALO Foundation & CMCAs Cole East Head Start, promote Jefferson City and Rotaract, and offer a unique experience to area residents.
Cost to participants:Early bird special: 1.2 mile walk/all access pass $25 3.5 & 7.5 mile run $30

*Entry fee goes up by $5 after early bird special (August 4 at noon). T-shirts guaranteed to early bird registrants.*
Price includes race, shirt, 1 food ticket, 1 drink ticket, entertainment, after party, etc. All proceeds go to The HALO Foundation and CCMAs Cole East Head Start.  Children 5 and younger are FREE (donations welcome).
Gear needed by participants: Typical running / walking equipment.  Trail shoes helpful but not necessary
